Hey Everyone,
This is the thirteenth issue of the Token Valley dApp newsletter aiming to give updates on the latest news on decentralized applications (dApps) across various platforms (EOS, Ethereum, Tron, etc.). Let’s get right to it:

🤹 Tweets of the Week
💰 Market Review
Its been a bumpy ride of very distinct ups and downs, even more so than is normal in this industry. The week ends off almost exactly where it started for BTC, ETH, EOS, and TRON, after a large rise, followed by a sharp fall, and repeating the same pattern again in just seven days. Tether and USDC remained stable ;)
✨ Token Valley’s ‘Weekly Spotlight’
PANVALA is our selected pick this week!
The Panvala dApp presents its purpose as ‘sustainable fundraising’ as follows:
The old way
Raise money with an ICO, then spend it until one day, it all runs out. Oops!
The new way
Fund work with grants of pan, the token of Panvala. Since donations are made in pan as well, we all have an incentive to recruit more donors!
This seems like a rather experimental economic experiment on Ethereum, and it will be interesting to see how it works out for anyone looking to raise funds. As such, we would encourage anyone to try it out, and report back. So far, they report 16+ projects supported by 76 donors. We attended their launch party in Berlin a few days ago. The event was well attended, and included some beer and snacks. Our overall impression of the team is a good one based on brief chats, and they seem future-oriented and are seeking new partners of various kinds.
✨Pick #2
Since its been a busy week, we decided to also give a shutout to Orchid Labs, which is developing a a VPN service operating a bandwidth marketplace on Ethereum.
Orchid is the natural internet.
Orchid is a suite of open source tools and cryptographic protocols developed and run by people who want the internet to extend our natural human freedom, not curtail it. Our initial focus is an open marketplace for bandwidth built on Ethereum, and a VPN client for all major operating systems.
*Disclosure: Orchid invited us to their amazing party at Berlin Blockchain Week, so while we can’t yet vouch for them as a company, their party-planning skills do leave a good impression 🤣
🏦 Token Valley News
We visited Berlin for Berlin Blockchain Week, which included dappcon, ETH Berlin, Web 3.0, a dApp pitching event, DAO events, and dozens of other fun things like riverboat parties, and clubbing to the wee hours of the mornings. Between our team members, we have attended over a dozen major conferences, and this one was especially good. The optimism regarding dApps, DAO’s, and the protocols was palpable. Anthony Sassano’s featured tweet above really gives a great summary of the event, and you should read the whole tweet thread!
We are looking to expand our weekly newsletter to feature a weekly podcast with regular guests, where we explore the various news and developments in the industry. If this is something you would like to be involved in or would like to share your thoughts about, email or tweet us (contact info below).
🤖🤣 On the lighter side..
Thanks!
